The Government is investing $25 million in recruiting and training farm advisors to help farmers meet growing compliance requirements, but to also grow primary sector exports.
The initiative announced provides an annual grant of up to $22,500 per person for the employment or further training of advisors along with funding for a pilot internship for up to 40 people, especially students, who have experience in the advisory sector.
The initiative includes a total support package of $25 million, including $10.9 million allocated for the careers pathway scheme.
The support package also included funding for the Integrated Farm Planning Accelerator Fund to support projects that work directly with farmers to help them on their planning journey and to support the uptake of Integrated Farm Plans.
