NZIPIM's Hawke's Bay Branch recently held an event on the TANK catchment work with guest speaker Mary-Anne Baker from Hawkes Bay Regional Council. Mary-Anne provided an update on the TANK catchment including the science, modelling work and likely shape of the catchment plan moving forward, and how this will impact on the primary industry sectors. She also discussed water quality and quantity issues in the various rivers/estuaries in the TANK catchment, including; sediment and nutrients flows, concentrations and loads, and sub-catchment issues influencing the range of on-farm/sub-catchment solutions.

Mary-Anne's presentation is available here.

Lochie MacGillivray of AgFirst spoke on his work modelling the cost of sediment reduction and Nitrogen mitigation on farms within the TANK catchment.
