The Kakahu visit will include discussions on animal genetics, carcase characteristics and environmental concerns. Gerald and Tom Hargreaves are well known in beef breeding circles due to their heavy use of American angus genetics. They have strived to improve growth rates and carcase characteristics while retaining the historical soundness of the angus breed.

Michael Barker was the 2022 Lincoln University Bledisloe Medal recipient. He received this award for outstanding contribution to the fields of business, marketing, manufacturing and horticulture in New Zealand and internationally.

We will run a light barbecue for lunch at Kakahu and there will be a light afternoon tea at Barkers.
