You are invited to a breakfast event to update members on the latest RMPP activities. We welcome Melonie Sheppard, RMPP Stakeholder Engagement Manager. Melonie comes from a sheep and beef background in Marlborough, Mel began her career as a farm consultant with Agriculture NZ in Wanganui. Moving to Dannevirke in 1996, she continued consulting before moving into the training of farmers and later Human Resources (HR). In 2003 Mel and her husband set up their own Farm, Valuation and HR consultancy business - Sheppard Agriculture. In 2010 she and her family moved to Nelson for Mel to take up a new role as HR Manager with Lone Star Farms which had 10 sheep and beef properties (150,000 su). From 2015 Mel has been working with the Red Meat Profit Partnership (RMPP) in the People and Capability development team focused on farmer and rural professional development. She recently took on the role of RMPP Stakeholder Engagement Manager to engage rural professionals and industry organisations in the delivery of the RMPP Action Network and uptake of RMPP products and activities.

Melonie will update members on:

  • What is the RMPP
  • RMPP activities and products
  • RMPP Action Network - latest numbers on Action Groups formed in what locations and topics being looked at
  • Opportunities for rural professionals
