The Waikato Branch is visiting the Barenbrug Kaipaki research site near Cambridge. This site is used for testing the latest Italian, hybrid and perennial ryegrass, cocksfoot as well as red and white clovers coming out of the Barenburug breeding team in Christchurch. A lot of plant breeding work is also going on at the site.

Jen Corkran, along with some of the R&D agronomists from Barenbrug will give us a tour of the site. Go through a bit of stuff on plant breeding, talk about how to successfully establish a new pasture, how you graze pasture to get the best quantity and quality. Jen will also discuss how to achieve the best chance of pasture persistence in this challenging climate in the upper north island and how the proprietary seed companies in NZ are including this in their work

Please register for this event, so we can manage the refreshments on the day.

There is no charge to members or non-members attending this event.
