When and where
The final Waikato branch event for 2020 will visit two unique farming enterprises on the shores of Lake Karapiro. Takapoto Estate is a vineyard, equestrian centre and Angus stud. It began as a dream to connect family and heritage. We'll learn about the history of the estate, before going on a tour of this magnificent 600 acre property.
Following on from this we'll be visiting Colin Brown of Lake Farm Pies and Lake Farm Beef. Colin is an Angus breeder, with an emphasis on high marbling. The meat in his pies and his beef is all grown on his farm. He's previously won the prestigious Steak of Origin competition and featured on Country Calendar. We'll even get to sample some pies at the end.
Timings:
1:45pm Arrive at Takapoto Estate (tour starts at 2pm). Tour cost is $20 per person - please bring cash.
3:30pm Leave for Colin Brown Farm for 3:45pm arrival
5:30pm Conclusion of event
