Please join us as we discuss farming in sensitive regional catchments and on-farm practice change in the Greater Wellington region. We will also look at FMG's data to better understand actions that mitigate on-farm risk.

Our speakers include:

  • William Beetham, Wairarapa Federated Farmers President, will provide an overview on the Greater Wellington Regional Plan process, Ruamahunga and Eastern Hill Country Whaitua processes and challenges in meeting new environmental regulations from a farmers perspective. We have also invited William to discuss what actions/strategies farmers can implement to meet proposed regulatory standards and the costs/implications of doing so.
  • Aidan Bichan will talk on the Essential Freshwater Package and the identification of Parkvale as a sensitive catchment. Aidan will share his insights on what future farming practice change could look like to meet proposed environmental rules in the region.
  • Steve Cantwell from FMG will discuss key risk profiles on-farm by their claims data and analysis. Steve will also outline future developing risk areas to enable rural professionals to better inform their clients on actions to mitigate risk and to help improve on-farm performance.

Please join us after the presentations for end of year drinks and nibbles.
