Join us for a talk about forestry on farms, the 1 billion trees programme and the related issues.

  • Blake Holgate, Rabobank Research Analyst will discuss the bigger picture regarding climate change, carbon and how the billion trees programme fits into this - including government initiatives to support planting and any likely changes/risks to those initiatives.
  • David Jannett from Forest Management Limited will give an overview of what is actually happening on farm now - how are farmers accessing the government's initiatives to commence planting projects, an overview of returns and practical issues.
  • Valuation - what impacts are the above having on land values - is it enhancing value or detracting from value? What practical considerations should land owners consider from a valuation perspective when assessing whether or not to plant trees under these initiatives (speaker to be confirmed).
