Update on the TANK (Tutaekuri, Ahuriri, Ngaruroro and Karamu) catchment work
Our first NZIPIM Hawke's Bay Branch breakfast for the year will be an update by Mary-Anne Baker from Hawkes Bay Regional Council on the TANK catchment work and will cover the science, modelling work and likely shape of the catchment plan, as well as how this will impact on our primary sectors. Mary-Anne will discuss water quality and quantity issues in the various rivers/estuaries in the TANK catchment, including; sediment and nutrients flows and concentrations, and sub-catchment issues influencing the range of on-farm/sub-catchment solutions.
Lochie MacGillivray of AgFirst will also speak on his work modelling the impact of changes in security of water supply on farms and the cost of sediment loss and Nitrogen mitigation in the TANK catchment.
