NZIPIM is hosting a series of seminars with John Noonan from Curtin University based in Perth, Western Australia. Rural professionals and leading farmers are invited to attend this seminar in Cromwell.

John is Program Leader and Senior Lecturer at Curtin University and is internationally recognised for his work with Western Australian farmers in adapting and transforming their businesses to enable them to thrive with increasingly volatile weather systems and variable market returns.

John is highly engaging, interactive speaker who will be drawing upon his extensive research and experience to describe the mechanisms and processes to improve the way farmers are informed, make decisions and innovate in response to increased volatility on-farm. Based on the experience of leading the Farm Business Resilience Program in Western Australia, John will reflect on how we tend to characterize farmer clients and how to think outside of the box in working with them. He will also explore how government policy can be framed to foster more profitable and sustainable farm businesses.

John is regarded as a far sighted strategic leader and an influential figure in changing on-farm business practices and in building greater resilience for farming 'on the edge'.

We wish to acknowledge the funding support from AGMARDT in bringing John out to New Zealand.
