To become a Member a person must have a minimum academic qualification and have been employed as a Primary Industry Professional for three continuous years. Your application needs to be supported by referees and accepted by the NZIPIM Board.

If you have a professional interest and/or provide services to the primary industry and you do not currently fulfil the 'Member' category you can apply for Associate member status.

Student membership is available free of cost for students who are currently undertaking full timestudy toward an approved course of study at a New Zealand university or polytechnic.If you find employment as a rural profession immediately after you graduate, you can carry over your student membership status for up to one year after the date you completed your studies.

To become a Registered Member a person must hold Member status and be registered by the Board as defined in the Institute's Registration Policy.
