The Certification Process

To obtain a Certificate in Dairy Farm Systems (Level 1) through NZIPIM's Dairy Farm Systems Certification Scheme, applicants are required to complete the following:

  1. Be a member of NZIPIM and complete our on-line Ethics module;
  2. Successfully complete an on-line assessment test to assess the applicant's technical competency in farm systems components as prescribed in the Assessment Criteria; and
  3. Meet NZIPIM's ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements of 20 hours/year

Upon completing a Certificate in Dairy Farm Systems, practicing dairy farm systems consultants can apply to become a Certified Dairy Farm Systems Consultant (Level 2). To become a Certified Dairy Farm Systems Consultant, applicants are required to complete the following:

  1. Confirm they undertake 600 hours/year of paid consultancy work in Dairy Farm Systems;
  2. Submit one Whole Farm Assessment report undertaken with a client for review;
  3. Provide referees contact details from the client of the completed Whole Farm Assessment and a Member of the Institute that is not directly associated with the applicant; and
  4. Maintenance of NZIPIM's CPD requirements of 20 hours/year
