Julian Raine will talk on Innovation and value add in agriculture. Julian is President of Hort NZ, Director cold Storage Nelson, New Zealand Hops, Berry Fruit Export NZ, Raine Farms, Wai-west Horticulture, Cawthron Institute and Sirtrack Ltd. He is also a past chairman of the Nuffield Farming scholarship trust. The Raine Family have owned Oakland's farm since 1844 and began milking cows in the 1930s and is run as part of an integrated farm business alongside other farms and horticultural interests in the Nelson region. Oakland's milk is sold via vending machines at various locations around Nelson, and is also used in a growing number of city cafes.

Murray King is chairman for the Waimea Water Augmentation Committee, Murray will give an update on the Waimea Community Dam (Lee Valley).
